The Last Blast Junior
This is the junior model of my older cannon the Last Blast. It features a lot of the same key notes: 3/4" igniter handle, onboard propane metering, and a mixture fan.
The overal design is simple. The chamber is 3"x15", and the barrel is 1-1/4"x48", breech loaded through a 2" cam-lock coupling. 3/4" pipe and fittings were used to make a comfortable handle for the launcher, and the propane tank was mounted on the launcher with a piece of 3" pipe with some set screws to hold the tank in place.
Ignition was provided by a BBQ grill igniter mounted in the 3/4" handle, and fuel mixing was accomplished by using a camping fan mounted in the chamber with 1/4" threaded rod. The blades needed to be trimmed down slightly to fit in the 3" pipe.
And, of course, this is about the first launcher I've ever really painted from the get-go. Simple paintjob, but I thought it looked good at the time.
This was really my favorite combustion launcher at the time of its build. It was fast and easy to shoot and moderately powerful at that. Too bad it had to be thrown away...
